My story hasn’t got a very happy ending like others but i thought I’d share it anyway. When i found out I was pregnant last year, I was referred to the One to One Midwives. Katie gave me a call not long after I found out. We went to meet Katie and she made us feel at ease. I had a 6 month old baby at the time I fell pregnant.

Katie didn’t judge me at all. She was very friendly and unlike my previous pregnancies my blood pressure was normal and my pregnancy was fine. We didn’t know how far pregnant I was when I first met Katie, so we had a dating scan and I was 13 weeks pregnant and everything was going so well.

Me and my partner became friendly with Katie and even made her truffles and cake. I went for my 20 week scan and found out we was expecting another little girl and again everything was normal. When I was 25 weeks pregnant my bump was massive so I got given another scan and everything was normal. </P

Throughout my pregnancy Katie was always there. I started getting pains when I was 28 weeks gone and so I text Katie and she suggested I go to the hospital to get checked out just to be on the safe side, so I did and the hospital said it was just a water infection and that my cervix was still closed so I had nothing to worry about. I went to see Katie a few days later and baby still had a strong heart beat. When i was 35 weeks pregnant I couldn’t move a muscle and I was scared, my partner called Katie and told her I had started to bleed, she told him not to panic and to call an ambalance straight away.

The ambalance arrived 5 minutes later and I was rushed to hospital. Unfortunately they couldn’t find a heartbeat and my baby was born sleeping. Katie kept in touch with the hospital while all this was happening even though the staff weren’t very nice to her. I had all my postnatal checks with Katie and she really helped me cope with the loss of my baby. She came to the funeral and we’ve kept in touch with her. If I ever have another baby I’d definitely want the One to One Midwives to look after me again.
